This is a 1973 Kelly 32 Sellier in black Box Calf — Hermès stopped using this leather in regular production years ago, so every one that surfaces in good shape is a small event in the vintage world. Box Calf was glass-coated for that deep, glossy finish, and over five decades this one has developed the kind of patina you simply can't fake or rush.
Sellier means rigid, structured, hand-stitched with Hermès' saddle stitch — the version purists ask for. Turn-lock clasp engraved HERMES-PARIS, four brass feet on the base, that same trapezoidal shape that hasn't changed in almost 70 years. The hardware has a natural brass patina — that's not wear, that's just what 50 years looks like, and it's exactly what tells you this piece is real.
Comes with its original clochette, lock, and key. For a bag this age, the condition is genuinely exceptional.
